Limes are green round citrus fruits with a sour taste.
Limes are best known to be a source high in Vitamin C, but it definitely provides other important vitamins, minerals, fibers and plant-based compounds. They contain vitamin B6, iron, calcium, thiamine, potassium and small amounts of riboflavin, niacin, folate, phosphorus, and magnesium.
But limes are known to have good effects on our health as they are a good source of antioxidants that help prevent free radicals harming the cells of your body and a valuable source of vitamin C that boosts immunity and improves skin quality.
Limes can be eaten raw, but few enjoy it. Many will use it in juices, sauces or as garnish to several dishes.
